"Race Schedules"

The Asheville Racing Pigeon Club’s official race seasons for both young bird and old bird competition consist of two independent series, A and B, comprised of a set number of races conducted over a consecutive-week period. The season may be lengthened in the number of weeks should inclement weather force postponement of any given race, but the number of races shall not exceed the pre-designated number of events with the order of distance unaffected. All races are held on Saturdays, weather permitting. Races may be held on the following Sunday if Saturday’s weather is unfavorable for race activity.

"Race Awards"

Diplomas are issued for all birds that finish in the top 5% of the field, based on full increments of 20 entries, and with a minimum of three diplomas issued per race regardless of entries.

Club Champion

Combined Average Speed Award

The official club champion is the competitor who maintains the highest averaged speed over the course of the season when both A and B speeds are combined and averaged. Contestants must enter all races in both the A and B leagues in order to maintain eligibility for the award. Failing to enter one or more races will result in disqualification for competing for this title. Contestants entering a race but failing to clock a bird will be given a zero but will retain eligibility.
